The first World Rum Day was celebrated on 11 July 2019. World Rum Day is a day for Caribbean cocktail and spirit lovers, rum runners, and mojito sippers to show respect to one of the most exquisite (and swashbuckling) spirits ever bottled.

From Malibu to Bundy, here are a few familiar rum brands you can try this World Rum Day 2021, and use them to make delicious cocktails in your home.

Malibu Basil Mojito

You wouldn’t guess basil, pineapple, and Malibu Caribbean Rum would compliment each other so well in this Malibu Basil Mojito! Basil comes from the mint family, which naturally goes well with pineapple and Malibu Caribbean Rum. But by swapping out traditional mint in this classic Caribbean cocktail, it creates a surprisingly delicious mix! This basic twist on a mojito will stimulate your taste buds in all the right ways with a kick of coconut. Shake all the ingredients together with ice then fill your glass to the top with soda, and garnish with some tropical pineapple.

The Australian Buck is a yummy cocktail mixed with Original Bundy Rum and lemonade. Then the drink is topped with ginger ale and ice for an even sweeter yet spicy kick. Fill the glass with ice and gently pour the rum and then mix it with lemonade. This is a delicious cocktail that can be served in a highball glass, cold.
