GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beers of 2020: Have You Voted?
The GABS Craft Beer & Cider Festival has been noted as one of the best 20 beer festivals around the globe. The GABS Festival transformed craft beer lovers and the uninitiated by exhibiting Australia and New Zealand’s best craft breweries and cider makers. This event features limited-edition batches of beer and ciders that have been specially made just for the event, along with connoisseur food pop ups, masterclasses and parties. In presenting hundreds of beers and ciders, the GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beer Countdown has since been born.
The Rise of Craft Beer
The attraction towards craft beer is continually rising in Australia. Throughout the nation microbrewers have been popping up and creating the most unique and extraordinarily popular brews. Hoppy ales, dessert-like porters, tropical sours, and IPAs have made a strike in the market, more than one could ever practically hope to taste. Bright, fruity beers are still the most trendy drop being sold right now (hello, summer).
The changing tastes of beer lovers are one of the main reasons behind this rise. Beer lovers (and occasional beer drinkers) are attracted to the idea of their drink being “handcrafted” and made using only high-quality, regional ingredients. Support local, right? The transformation to healthier lifestyles are also a compelling factor. As Australians have started to become more conscious of their eating and drinking habits, they have started searching for low-carb and gluten-free drink choices.
The GABS Festival has long been highly appraised by beer lovers alike when it comes to the selection of craft beers. Once again, many beer drinkers in Australia have voted in GABS Hottest 100 craft beer search of 2020. It might be one of the biggest beer polls in the world! More than 35,000 people cast their votes in the 2019 GABS Fest with 177,500 votes for more than 2,500 Aussie beers set a record turnout of fans getting behind their favourite brews.
