Disaronno Sour

An original taste. Disaronno history begins in 1525 when the artist Bernardino Luini was commissioned to paint a Fresco in a Sanctuary in the city of Saronno. To portray the Virgin Mary, Bernardino chose a local innkeeper who donated a flask containing a homemade liqueur to the artist. Disaronno is a family-owned liqueur made with the same recipe since 1525; 17 herbs and spices soaked with bitter almond essential oils. Disaronno can be enjoyed in drinks like Disaronno Sour, Godfather and Disaronno Fizz The cocktail was introduced in the 1970's in the USA, as a simple mix of two parts amaretto liqueur to one part lemon juice. The balance of sweet and sour, along with the almond flavour of Disaronno gives for a distinctive flavour.
