Hendrick’s French 75 Cocktail

A thunderous accompaniment to any celebration. Named for a famously smooth French gun (the Canon de 75 modèle 1897), the French 75 is considerably more fun than its artillery namesake. Some say it was created by British soldiers in France in World War I and mixed in spent shell casings, but it was enjoyed (with a different name) by the Prince of Wales as far back as the 18th Century.
Ingredients
1 1/2 parts HENDRICK’S GIN
1/2 part simple syrup
1/2 part Lemon Juice
Top with Champagne
Lemon Twist to Garnish
Method
1. Build all ingredients in highball over ice cubes.
2. Add HENDRICK’S, simple syrup, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice.
3. Shake well and strain into a chilled flute.
4. Top with champagne and garnish.
5. Drink!
